- Simultaneous Multimodal Imaging in Humans with a Focus on High-Resolution fMRI at 7T.
- Abstract
- The advent of ultra-high field MRI / fMRI has opened up many new directions for neuroscientific applications. Here, we will report on the development and utility of multimodal imaging combining MRI, PET, and EEG in the context of structural, functional and metabolic imaging. The complementarity of these methods will be explored The multimodal nature of MRI itself will be discussed in the framework of obtaining metabolic information.
A technique to obtain ultra-high resolution fMRI data (0.5 x 0.5 x 1mm) will be described and first results will be shown. The imaging sequence is based on echo planar imaging with keyhole (EPIK) and its utility for whole-brain, resting state fMRI will be discussed.
