The Quantum Origins of Non-Topological Vortices

概要

Non-relativistic theories of anyons play host to various interesting phenomena, even at the classical level, where they have non-topological solitons known as Jackiw-Pi vortices. I will explain some of the subtleties of these theories, offering in particular an explanation for these solitons in the language of many-body quantum mechanics.
