From August 25 to 29, 2025, the 34th IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (IEEE RO-MAN 2025) was held at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. At this conference, Assistant Professor Sheng Li from the Department of Information and Communications Engineering, School of Engineering, Tokyo Tech, received the Best Reviewer Award.

The Best Reviewer Award recognizes researchers who have made outstanding contributions to the conference through high-quality paper reviews and dedicated support for the program.

Dr. Li served as an organizer of the special session “LLM/GenAI-based Multimodal, Multilingual and Multitask Modeling Technologies for Robotic Systems”, which focused on robotic dialogue, multimodal understanding, multilingual processing, and multitask learning, with an emphasis on integrating LLM/GenAI technologies into real-world robotic systems. In addition, he contributed extensively to the reviewing process of RO-MAN 2025 papers, ensuring rigorous and constructive feedback to authors.

Building on his long-term experience in speech recognition, speech translation, and robotic speech interfaces, and his recent work on foundation-model-based conversational intelligence for robots, Dr. Li played a key role in shaping the technical quality and direction of this special session.

This Best Reviewer Award highlights Dr. Li’s service to the human-robot interaction and robot dialogue research community, and we look forward to his further contributions in the field of intelligent robotics.
