Associate Professor Takayuki Nishio Receives the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing Best Paper Award 2023

Associate Professor Takayuki Nishio has been awarded the Best Paper Award 2023 from IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing for his paper titled "Distillation-Based Semi-Supervised Federated Learning for Communication-Efficient Collaborative Training with Non-IID Private Data."

IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing is a leading journal in the field of mobile computing. This award recognizes outstanding research achievements among the papers published in the journal during 2023.

The awarded research proposes a novel method for federated learning that significantly reduces communication overhead while mitigating performance degradation caused by non-IID client data through the application of knowledge distillation.
