The Earth-Life Science Course, an integrated masters and doctoral educational degree programme on origins of life and astrobiology, is an International Graduate Program recently launched at the Tokyo Institute of Technology through the Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI). The five-year Earth-Life Science Course is open for domestic and international students who wish to tackle fundamental questions in natural science, such as the origin and evolution of living planets.
Thursday, 27 July, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (JST) and at 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (JST).
(You can attend either orientation session.)
Online (Zoom)
Undergraduate students or bachelors degree holders aiming to start the integrated course from April 2024 or later.
Each orientation will include a Q&A session with ELSI PIs and A-PIs, where prospective students can ask detailed questions about the program and application progress, as well as a breakout session, where prospective students can communicate directly with ELSI PIs and/or A-PIs.
A video will also be posted on the ELSI YouTube channel about two weeks prior to the orientation, which will be a formal presentation that introduces the Earth-Life Science Course at large, as well as each research lab at ELSI; it will also provide information about the entrance exams and application procedure. Because the video will not be played during the orientation webinars (which will focus on questions and discussion), each participant is requested to watch the video in advance.
The registration deadline will be 24 hours before the start of each webinar.
