About my research

Organic semiconductors are attracting attention for their ability to fabricate films easily using solution process. Their high flexibility is expected to be applied to flexible devices. In the future, to realize lightweight and wearable electronic devices that can be attached to the skin are desired. For example, an alternative to smartwatches.

In my master thesis research, I fabricated a flexible image sensor pixel by combining a photodetector fabricated by an organic material sensitive to near-infrared light and an organic transistor. The image sensor pixel is a component of the sensor part of a camera. Since it recepts near-infrared light, which has high transmittance through the human body, it can be used for biological imaging, such as imaging of veins. The devices fabricated by taking advantage of liquid crystallinity are expected to contribute to the medical field in the future.

Comments on the award

I am very honored to receive the outstanding master student award. Also, I really appreciate Prof. Iino's supervision. During my master course, I was able to experience not only conference presentations and paper submissions, but also many other things that do not directly related to research achievements. All of them were helpful to my life and I was able to spend two fulfilling years in the laboratory. I even thought of the laboratory as a field of living. Now, I am writing this article preparing for the Ph.D. degree initiative presentation. I had some unfinished work at the moment of my master thesis presentation. And in addition to that, I would like to tackle new project in Ph.D. degree. While I am grateful for the award, I will continue to devote myself to my work without being arrogant.
