Suzukake Science Day 2023　～Peek into the front line of science～

Suzukake Science Day returns for 2023 and will be held on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14. This year, we plan to hold a hybrid event that can be enjoyed virtually but is primarily focused on in-person participation at Suzukakedai Campus.

In addition to holding lectures like we did last year, 24 laboratories (mainly face-to-face) will be getting involved by opening their doors to the public and demonstrating Tokyo Tech's cutting-edge research on various topics from the materials around us, familiar diseases, and microorganisms to AI and interfaces.

Suzukakedai Library will also be open to all, and there will be other happenings on campus including student performances such as concerts and juggling displays, fun experiment classes for children, food stands, and other events.
On the same day, a hybrid open campus will be held, in addition to the annual information sessions for all graduate schools and those specific to individual schools. There will also be talks by Tokyo Tech students and alumni, and their voices will undoubtedly help deepen your understanding of Tokyo Tech. The School of Life Science and Technology will also hold an information session for prospective undergraduates. This is a great opportunity not only for those who are thinking about applying to Tokyo Tech, but also for those who want a glimpse of student life on campus.

Suzukake Science Day 2023 Lectures

At Suzukake Science Day 2023, we will hold lectures that can be attended virtually or in person.

"Forefront of Medicine-Engineering Collaboration Targeted by Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University"

Tokyo Tech Associate Professor Kotaro Tadano (surgical assist robotics) and Professor Keiji Itaka (mRNA drug discovery) of Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) will explain cutting-edge research results and explore new possibilities through medicine-engineering collaboration.

"Challenging Research by Young Researchers from the Organization for Fundamental Research"

The Organization for Fundamental Research was established in July 2018 as a place to train fundamental research specialists who will support future academia. In this lecture, a current member of the Comprehensive Academy, Assistant Professor Tomoko Horie, will be joined by academy graduates Assistant Professor Yasuhiko Orita, Assistant Professor Yohei Aikawa, and Associate Professor Takumi Ohashi to give an easy-to-understand explanation of their current research and its future prospects.
