Team PyTeon 3.0, consisting of three students from Tokyo Tech, has won the Business and Legal Affairs Award at the Laws and Regulations API* Hackathon held by Japan's Digital Agency. The team received their award on November 17.

The Digital Agency's Laws and Regulations API Hackathon is a trial event for developing services using the Laws and Regulations API. It aims to promote the development of industry, technology, and policymaking through the use of laws, regulations, and other data. The event was held over eight days, from November 10 to 17.

Team PyTeon 3.0 won the Business and Legal Affairs Award by proposing and developing the application LegalLink Insight. The app is a service aimed at professionals who frequently browse and refer to legal documents in their work.

Laws, regulations, and legal documents often use terminology that are defined in other laws and sources, and legal professionals must constantly interpret these laws and documents while referring to a broad range of sources. LegalLink Insight enables smooth reference and display of relevant legal content, thereby improving work efficiency and reducing errors. The app was developed as a browser extension rather than an independent site to take advantage of existing user interface and search functions. The app enhances people's ability to read legal documents efficiently, but it is also expected to lower barriers to legal document access and promote more frequent use of such documents.
