In this graduate major, students will gain specialized expertise in fields such as mechanical engineering, systems and control engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, information and communication engineering, materials science and engineering, life science and technology, chemical science and engineering, and computer science. Additionally, they will acquire essential knowledge in human science, medical and health sciences, bioethics, and the environments humans interact with; all critical components for research and development of science and technology for health care and medicine.

In addition to “Interdisciplinary Research Fundamentals,” this graduate major offers common specialized courses across fields such as medical and dental sciences, health sciences and biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences and engineering, and nursing innovation science, aiming to develop foundational expertise for understanding different fields of specialization.

In this graduate major, students will acquire independent problem-identification and solving skills through problem-based learning in entrepreneurship-related courses such as “Fundamentals of Creative Design” and “Solving Social Issues with Cutting-Edge Technology.” Students will also improve English proficiency and acquire fundamental language, presentation, and debate skills through courses such as “International Writing,” “Presentation for Science and Engineering,” and “Advanced Exercises in Global Presentation.”

In this graduate major, students will acquire a wide range of knowledge and new perspectives on science and technology for health care and medicine through courses such as “Interdisciplinary Research Training,” where students spend time in laboratories across various fields while engaging in research activities, “Research Planning for Master/Doctoral Thesis I” where students from all departments and tracks participate in discussions, and “Research Planning for Master/Doctoral Thesis II,” where faculty from other research fields join as examiners.

In this graduate major, students will foster broad cultural literacy, communication skills for effectively conveying their ideas and techniques correctly to others while engaging in collaborative tasks, and competencies for global leadership through courses such as “Teaching Methods for Science and Technology for Health Care and Medicine,” “Advanced Exercises in Global Presentation,” as well as liberal arts and internship courses.
