Event Information
Social scientists have taken for granted various meanings of happiness. Probing the Socratic and Switch paradoxes of happiness, Timo Airaksinen, Professor Emeritus of Moral Philosophy at Helsinki University (Finland), will show that the concept of happiness is not of much importance to practical life. He will also comment on Finland's designation as the world’s happiest country in 2019 (UN Happiness Report).
His recent work on happiness is "Desire and the Socratic Paradox of Happiness" in Tafter Journal n. 94 - MAGGIO GIUGNO 2017 (open access).
