Department of Industrial Engineering and Economics held multiple events on Open Campus day 2016 to appeal our research and education to public.

Professor Kenji Itoh gave a special lecture titled "Ergonomics and Industrial Engineering".

At Trial Lesson session entitled "Scientific Sense for Social Problems", students and guests filled classrooms for four mock lessons on diverse topics : "How to compute the 'best' solution in a clever way?" (Assoc. Prof. Akiyoshi Shioura), "What is management technology?: Invitation to a profound world." (Assoc. Prof. Hirotaka Aoki), "Introduction to economics for science students" (Assoc. Prof. Ryoji Ohdoi), and "Knowledge management: Knowledge and organization" (Assoc. Prof. Dai Senoo).

At Open Lab event, graduate students as well as faculty members explained recent outcome of research activities of laboratories, through poster presentations, demonstrations, and presentation by robots. A number of guests, sometimes well more than the capacity of the hall, visited us and learned about our department.
