Tackling Globally Intertwined Problems in Modern Society

The word "global" has various meanings. As one interpretation, we can compare to what we would consider its antonyms. Some examples are "bal vs. local" and "macro vs. micro." In the Graduate Major in Global Engineering for Development, Environment and Society, we are distinctly aware of the significance of this multifaceted point of view — constantly aware of the viewpoints of other academic fields, not just of engineering. We promote research and foster individuals who can articulate the significance and role of their own research in relation to society and the present era.
